Trump Is Said to Abandon Contentious Border Tax on Imports

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration has dropped any support for a so-called border adjustment tax on imports, according to two people who have been briefed on the matter.

The tax was intended to be the keystone of a tax reform proposal developed by Republican leaders in the House of Representatives. But it faced immense pushback from influential companies including Walmart and Toyota.

If enacted, a border adjustment tax would have effectively imposed significant levies on billions of dollars of imported goods. Retailers in particular would have been hard hit, as products ranging from tires to T-shirts, which are imported from overseas, would have suddenly cost more. Automakers and other manufacturers that rely heavily on foreign parts and supplies would have also been hit.

The border tax may be revisited later, one of these people said, but it was shelved ahead of the Wednesday release of the White House’s new tax plan. A White House spokeswoman, Lindsay Walters, did not respond to requests for comment. President Trump had always seemed ambivalent toward the border tax.

In a late February interview with Reuters, Mr. Trump said the border tax “could lead to a lot more jobs in the United States.” But the proposal received a mixed reception among his top aides; whereas chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon supported it, National Economic Council director Gary Cohn [a CFR rat fink] opposed it.

The change of heart comes as Mr. Trump is rushing to reveal bold policy ideas ahead of the 100th day of his presidency, which falls on Saturday. In a public announcement on Wednesday, Mr. Trump is expected to lay out a broad tax plan that includes lowering corporate taxes to 15 percent.

Dropping the border tax intensifies the political challenges of his plan for taxes. Under the plan by House Republicans, it was supposed to offset the revenue lost by other tax cuts. By just lowering corporate taxes, the budget deficit is expected to increase.

Increasing the deficit has always been a deal killer for most Republicans in Congress. However, the powerful chairman of the Senate finance committee said Tuesday he was prepared to support President Trump’s plan to cut corporate tax rates to 15 percent even if it added to the budget deficit.

Is the Trumpian street hustle on?

All Deductions Beyond Mtg Interest and Charitable Contributions Will Be Eliminated
http://www.economicpolicyjournal.com/20 ... n-all.html
Treasury Secretay Steve Mnuchin and Director of the National Economic Council Gary Cohn have just announced the new proposed Trump tax reform.

Based on the outline by the two men, the proposal calls for a corporate tax that would be lowered to 15% from 35% and a lowering of the capital gains tax to 20%. It also calls for the elimination of the estate tax and a 35% top tax rate for individuals, down from today’s 39.6% rate. Lower brackets would be set at 10% and 25%,

The proposal includes roughly a doubling of the standard deduction that Americans can use to reduce their taxable income. The deduction for married couples would move from $12,600 to $24,000.

However, the proposal also calls for revenue generators. All individual deductions on personal taxes outside of the mortgage interest deductions and the charitable deduction expenses will be eliminated.

Most significant, the proposal calls for the elimination of deductions for state and local taxes from reportable income for individuals.

This will especially hurt residents of high-tax states such as New York, New Jersey and California.

.Eliminating the state deduction could raise more than $1 trillion over a decade, reports The Wall Street Journal. This is one way Trump will sneak in shady tax increases.

The devil will be in these type of details. Without any net decrease in government spending under Trump, tax cuts will have to be funded by different tax increases, such as the elimination of tax deductions, and an expanding government budget deficit. Mnuchin and Cohn were noticeably vague on the details of the tax proposal. Always focus on where the scammers don't want to focus to understand what the deal is really all about.

Bottom line: The tax reform scam is on. Expect more hidden taxes. a lot via border taxes, and the crowding out of private sector borrowing.

Trump's "reform" will do a lot to suffocate the economy.

Better question: what if it's all a smokescreen? Cohn and Mnuchin held up their one page summary of what Trump wants and called it a "tax plan". There's no plan. There are some general ideas sketched out on a page of paper, half of which haven't a snowball's chance of getting passed in Congress. This whole thing is a "Well, I didn't get much done in my first 100 days, but look what's coming next!" charade.

Face it: if the pilot episode stinks, probably the whole series is going to stink. This is spraying potpourri on a turd.

Alright, I'll humor you. First, however, I must write a disclaimer: Hillary Clinton is sick. She is in need of the Master's touch. She needs our prayers and I will admit that it has been hard to pray for her. She represents so much that is evil in the world. I loathe just about every principle she stands for. Her husband should have never even been elected governor so Hillary would have died in obscurity. She is a traitor.

Having written all that, I wish she had beaten Trump. Here's why:
If Hillary had won, then at least a larger portion of lukewarm patriots/conservatives would have remained alert. With a Trump win, many went back to sleep because the Marmalade In Chief decided to put on the holy vestments of the Party which starts with an R for this election.

Hilary losing, Hilary winning, Trump winning, Trump losing, Obama winning, Obama winning, or Obama losing, Bush winning or losing, Clinton winning or losing, other Bush , Carter, Reagan, etc etc etc... What difference does it make really, their all puppets on a string, and have been for ages. Has our countrys morality improved since the sixties? Or for that matter since the roaring twenties? It is still legal to butcher/murder our offspring since 1973 and that is after having various Republican administrations and Republican control of the House and Senate. So who is fooling who. And even if what's his name was voted in it would have made no difference... Face it, we have suffered the " gadianton robbers, secret combinations" to rise above us and they have been above us for some time. If George Washington himself was to come back and win the presidency they would destroy him if he didn't comply just like Trump is complying and any other man or woman that would of won the presidency.
Any person that thinks the presidential chair is the pinnacle of power in America is badly mistaken..
No question it was an entertaining time for politics for the last year, something I've never seen before as far as in the media. But here we are flip flop flip flop. And just like I told my relatives from day one, who is it that made Trump? Who is it that saved Trump financially many times, well at least a few times... Money, Money, Money , the big boys that control the money. Like Rothschild said " give me control of a nation's currency and I care not who makes its laws". That says it all in a nut shell.
Again it mattereth not who gets into the chair, that chair is and has been dangling from puppet strings for quite a few decades.
And with the immoral downward spiral this country and us citizens are in, what really do we expect.
IMOP we are at the brink of a collapse of the strings that hold our society together. I base that belief on prophecies and predictions predicated upon our morality and whether we repent, and I don't see that happening as a whole....
But nevertheless God said he will save/protect the rightous even it must needs be by fire... maybe... just maybe.......

You are right,

Alma 9:13

13 Behold, do ye not remember the words which he spake unto Lehi, saying that: aInasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall prosper in the land? And again it is said that: Inasmuch as ye will not keep my commandments ye shall be cut off from the presence of the Lord.

I don't see it that way. I think it is dueling oligarchies within an overarching Gadianton-like structure. Both sides, full of bankers, warmongers, CFR, NWO-ites, want to win. This is why it is ridiculous to rely on the leading candidate of either major party to restore the Republic.

The Book of Mormon provides a clear example of the Chief Judge, who belonged to the band of Gadiantons, and who was murdered by his brother, also of the band. The blood on the hem of his robe proved the murderer guilty.

Of course I wanted him to lose to my candidate, Darrell Castle. You need to exit this treacherous Red Team/Blue Team thinking of yours.
???? I would rather have Castle or Carson but that's not going to happen. Out of Hillary or Trump who did you want??? Don't say neither, please humor me.
Alright, I'll humor you. First, however, I must write a disclaimer: Hillary Clinton is sick. She is in need of the Master's touch. She needs our prayers,I will pray for you. and I will admit that it has been hard to pray for her.I pray for President Trump. She represents so much that is evil in the world. I loathe just about every principle she stands for. Her husband should have never even been elected governor so Hillary would have died in obscurity. She is a traitor.

Having written all that, I wish she had beaten Trump.Wow, that makes sense. Here's why:
If Hillary had won, then at least a larger portion of lukewarm patriots/conservatives would have remained alert. With a Trump win, many went back to sleep because the Marmalade In Chief decided to put on the holy vestments of the Party which starts with an R for this election.
Wrong again.
Of course the only way eddie can make such a claim is because he's wrong still.
