So there's been a growth of older children in their 20s/30s living in their parents' homes.

Yeah, I guess to each their own, but even as a single adult, I moved into my own apartment after graduating college with a degree, just wanted to have a residence of my own for a while. The unemployment part is what bothers me the most.
