A serious question...do British LDS folk have a more Americanized dialect than their non-LDS neighbors? I served my mission in the Southern US, and generally speaking the LDS folks speech was less "southern" than their neighbors. I suspected it was from their exposure to the Utah dialect by way of a BYU education and constant influence from conference talks and missionaries. I wondered if that phenomenon was repeated across the pond.Robin Hood wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2017, 10:37 am To me, there are 3 American accents: southern drawl, New York, and the rest.

He may be taking a shot at the quality of teeth in Britain. It is a common joke here that Brit's have bad teeth.
I must confess that Ezra isn't doing anything to raise the level of discourse (of course I don't expect that from him)
By the way, I am noted for making some hard comments myself, but they almost always refers to people' ideas, not people.

Re: Breaking News: Terrorist attack in London
They wasted no time making arrests....
"Eight arrests were made in London and Birmingham following Wednesday's attack."-BBC
It surprised me the attacker was older seemed like an assimilated citizen.
"Kent-born Masood, who was shot dead in the attack, was not the subject of any current police investigations, but had a range of previous convictions.
The 52-year-old was believed to have been living in the West Midlands."-BBC
I couldn't tell if the guy was a teacher or if he lied about being a teacher when renting his car.

Thinking about it, I would have to say no, but with a notable exception or two.
For example, in England we say the word "adult" with the emphasis on the "A". Whereas, in the US the "A" is de-emphasized in favour of the "U".
A lot of people in the church here pronounce the term "young adults" the American way.
I have even heard myself doing this!
Another example is the way we say "missionary". The English way is to pronounce it "missionry", omitting a syllable. But in the church it is not uncommon to hear English people pronounce it the American way.
I don't tend to do it, but know plenty of people who do.

ahhhh..No, I didn't get that from your post. Make sense.tribrac wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2017, 10:10 amWhy in the world would you conclude that my remarks were referring to the narrow window of the 21st century? I will give you the benefit of the doubt, perhaps you thought I was a government educated Millennial who was not aware of the World Wars, or anything else in world history that happened before the PlayStation was released.DesertWonderer wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2017, 3:01 pm Not sure of the answers to your questions but you might want to ponder WWI, WWII, Laos, China, Armenia...The 21st century is a completely peaceful period of time compared to the 20th.
I was lamenting the entire history of the earth, I could have been more specific to say I am sad that despite all the advancements in technology, transportation, food production, medicine, water purification, computers... all of these advancements to make life better...humans are still struggling for power, it is the same struggle of Cain and Able...fighting all the time.
I believe the second coming will save us from the endless power struggle, but I wonder if He is waiting until enough of us ask for Him to come and show us a better way to live.

This was posted elsewhere but it's right on the point.
It's nice to see there is at least one Brit who understands reality, or is he an Aussie?

Yep. RIght on the money. He's a Londoner and an asset of InfoWars . . . but it seems he's carving out a certain amount of independence.

He is Muslim, but isn't a radical.
I don't like him much, but I don't live in London so it doesn't matter too much to me.
He's a member of the Labour party. I certainly don't like his politics.

Because the U.S. and its NATO allies have invaded several Muslim countries and caused multitudes of innocent Muslims to be killed and injured, all in the name of the false paradigm, 'The war on terra'

Yes, it couldn't possibly have anything to do with the indoctrination of their youth to hate Christians and Jews, to vow to exterminate any who are not muslims, no, couldn't possibly have anything to do with that.
It couldn't possible have anything to do with what's in the koran about shedding the blood of "infidels". No.

And of course, a 3rd element would be allowing almost unfettered Muslim immigration/illegal immigration into European countries and the US.

Re: Breaking News: Terrorist attack in London
larsonb,
It's not like the Spanish invited the Moors to come in and be a wise negotiator (as the Muslims claim the Jews did in Medina). They violently conquered Spain, and the Spanish lived under their whip, for hundreds of years until in 1492 (interesting year) they finally drove them out and got their land back?
Of course, since Muslims claim any land once Muslim always Muslim, According to their belief, they have a right to Spain, and the Spanish have no right for self rule. I suppose that France, and maybe the rest of Europe would have enjoyed all the same wonderful, benevolent, wise governing that Spain got, had Charles Martel failed in Tours.

George Clay

Joel,
As Reagan often said "Here we go again". What is your point? are you blaming the Feemasons for the London attack?
You guys are like a dog with a bone. Does a discussion about what toppings you prefer on a pizza lead to conspiracy?

George Clay

Re: Breaking News: Terrorist attack in London
Are you aware that Muslims have hated the west since long before we started "invading" Muslim countries? Or do you think the practice of raiding coastal Mediterranean cities to kill men and abduct women and children as slaves happened because the US and its NATO allies invaded several Muslim countries in the centuries before NATO was founded?

They have a monopoly on helicopters. So they hired the "Muslim extremists" to use a car to kill in hopes to get cars banned so they can make money with there heli fleet.
