Why? We have enough cesspools as it is. Just look at south central Los Angeles or Chicago or Detroit. Not to mention Harlem and south Phoenix among others. Why not just give Mexico everything from Los Angeles south and then build a wall around it? If God were to give the U.S. an enema, I think he'd dither about whether to shove it in New York or Los Angeles.Matchmaker wrote: ↑March 6th, 2017, 12:32 pm Since almost all the Mexicans want to come to America, why don't we just take over Mexico, make it a part of the USA, and end all this drama once and for all? We could make Mexico a possession, or territory, of the USA, like Puerto Rico is. Then all the Mexicans could become instant American citizens.

Perhaps some of you have noticed that many Church members are of the mind set that we should allow the illegals and refugees to come in, welcome them, and succor them as best we can. Some maintain that it is the Lord's will that they are here, legal or illegally. How do you feel about that ?

Some of the LDS people in our stake maintain that they are obeying a "higher law" in encouraging and supporting illegal immigration. They believe that righteousness and charity include supporting initiatives, programs and legislation that force others to involuntarily contribute to the welfare of others, including illegal immigrants. They refuse to even consider that illegal immigration, with its devastating effects especially on our national wealth, moral fibre, and culture is contributing to making a shambles of America and will surely contribute to the alteration of our form of government. Nor do they realize that certain elements of the U.S. FedGov are fomenting and supporting in various ways this influx of illegal immigrants,

The ONLY thing that would keep illegal immigration from happening in the long term would be if things were so good in the other country (living conditions, jobs, housing, law enforcement, education, and opportunities for advancement) that the person wouldn't have the incentive to leave. How many illegal immigrants came from Sweden or Norway 10 years ago?Rumpelstiltskin wrote: ↑March 18th, 2017, 8:00 amWhy? We have enough cesspools as it is. I have mixed feelings about the issue.lundbaek wrote: ↑March 18th, 2017, 11:01 am Perhaps some of you have noticed that many Church members are of the mind set that we should allow the illegals and refugees to come in, welcome them, and succor them as best we can. Life was so bad in Mexico for one of my ex-relatives and his family that he felt he had no choice but to make the dangerous trip here by coyote. I felt sorry for him, and still do. He was a very hard worker with a lot of responsibility on his shoulders to feed his hungry family in Mexico, but he couldn't hold his liquor after he got here and ended up with 3 DUI's in 4 years, or was it 4 DUI's in 3 years? I can't remember.
