Superb! Never heard this rendition before. Amazingly moving and on point with all the senseless killing going on today.

Although some songs by Genesis evoke scriptures or doctrines, not to mention mythology and otherwise also, I wouldn't say many would be appropriate for a Sunday afternoon:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLCrTMHZVmE
http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/genesis/ ... iners.html

Preferred arrangement:
Part 1. Instrumental studio intro: https://www.youtube.com/v/SD5engyVXe0?end=71
Part 2. Live (no intro)
http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/genesis/ ... fifth.html

Other songs by Genesis also evoke scriptures or doctrines but in a "thou shalt not" light, such as:

Seriously, where has this been all of my life? All of your songs have been uplifting but this may be my favorite, Joel. You had me cracking up.

Well alright then... Guess I can't do that but I was referring to the Hasselhoff song.

Truly a classic. Makes me want to sell everything I own, buy a keytar, and make my way in the world.

Joe Cocker - My Fathers Son

Heart over mind, yes I'm
My father's son
I live my life, just like
My father's done
If he'd told me, one day
That somebody'd have my heart in chains
Would I believe it, no way
Made up my mind I'd never fall that way

But tell me why
Every time I try, to tell you it's goodbye
I can't seem to let go
In my heart I know I want to stay
What I'm trying to say

Heart over mind
Yes I'm my father's son
Yes I'm inclined to do
As my fathers done

Here I am with you
And I know that it's true
Despite all the feelings
Your putting me through
I try to walk away, something makes me stay

Heart over mind, yes I'm
My father's son
I live my life, just like
My father's done
But tell me why
Every time I try, to tell you it's goodbye
I can't seem to let go
In my heart, I know I want to stay, never run away

My father's son
I live my life, as my father's done
If he'd told me, one day
That somebody would have my heart in
Chains would I believe it, no way
Made up my mind, I'd never fall that way
But it's heart over mind, yes I'm my father's son

A very good anti-nuclear war video released during the Obama regime.

What You say of me (I)
I believe...”

I love good European ethnic music too. Have you heard Patty Gurdy:

Or the Gothard Sisters:

Or Jonna Jinton Kulning:

And if you can stomach polka and yodeling at the same time then you have to hear the Melanie Oesch:

I would receommend Meg Myers but she just might be possessed (seriously watch her emotionally draining performances).

Of course Bebe Rexa's "I'm Gonna Show You Crazy" is fun too.

Eve 6 is my feeling angry music.

But I digress...

I couldn't even begin to out down the music I like on here. There's LOTS of good music ranging from classical all the way up to some hard rock. I'd venture the vast majority of music is suitable for playing.
But some of my favorites are Jimmy Buffett songs. Mainly because he knew my husband personally and most of his songs are literally written about him and his life before we even met or got married.
I also have to confess a fondness for Alice Cooper. The song, "Highway to hell" tends to leave me energized and feeling a bit feisty. The only music I don't like is heavy metal and rap. Heavy metal is just too harsh and rap is too ignorant and contains unnecessary profanity. Both require zero talent.

Janice jopin was a good singer. Her voice wasn't particularly lovely, but it had enormous character. Sometimes I'll be in church listening to the soprano opera singer wannabes, and think to myself, "I wish Janice Joplin were up there singing that right now....."😁
