Heck most people believe they have taken the red pill. This is a silly poll, how many people are going to ask for the blue pill? And even if they would, how many are going to admit it?

I mean, "Hey would you rather have truth or lies?"

I do believe that I have diligently sought the red pill, in my opinion moreso than the vast majority of people.

But that is also probably a common belief here on LDSFF, and probably most LDS as well.

edit: I did a few Youtube videos several years ago: Common theme was "take the red pill" - most of the topics are history now, but I was pretty happy with them.

I don't think that's the problem. I think the problem is it isn't a one time choice, it's a process. It's kind of like every morning you have to choose to take either the blue pill or the red. Anyone that has seen The Matrix knows that Neo did not have a good time after taking the red pill. Just the sheer shock of what was truly reality reduced him to puking his guts out. So going thru such a process, do we choose the red pill every day? Sure, we would like to think that we do, or that we would - but the fact is that very few can handle a steady diet of red pills, we need the occasional blue pill if only to give ourselves hope.

I think Lemuel is playing on the words of Boyd Packer. If he is, then that quote means the usefulness of the red pill is never lost on you (real truth never is), but it often is on someone else, meaning the fact you actually really do know means something less for them -- and that something is power over you.

Those who are disseminating what they claim are red pills are always interested in what pills you are taking, lest you discover yours isn't really red after all. Those who have really taken the red pill don't care what you take, it will not change what they know, nor will it stop them from knowing more in the future.
