Another Gotcha Moment: GAO Confirms Obamacare’s ‘Senior Swindle’

AMAC chief Dan Weber asks ‘just how far will he go to win a second term’ -

BOHEMIA, NY, July 13 – “Jeff Anderson of The Weekly Standard has scored another scoop. Last May, he exposed a hidden feature of Obamacare – a taxpayer-funded $8.5 billion scheme to cover up the likely loss of supplemental Medicare Advantage coverage for seniors. Now, he’s gotten hold of a letter from the General Accounting Office that the GAO is concerned about the legality of what Anderson called ‘Obama’s Senior Swindle’,” said Dan Weber, president of the Association of Mature American Citizens.

The president needs seniors to vote for him if he is to win re-election, Weber pointed out. “That’s why he can’t afford to let them know that he’s tricking them. By using this so called demonstration project, Mr. Obama is delaying big increases in Medicare Advantage premiums until after the election. Otherwise many seniors will protest the expected increases by denying his reelection.”

Weber explained that the increases are the result of changes from provisions in Obamacare “and that’s why he’s willing to spend your big bucks to keep his little secret under wraps. Just how far is he willing to go to win a second term?”

In his article this week in the Standard, Anderson writes: “in a letter to [Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen] Sebelius dated July 11, 2012 and obtained by THE WEEKLY STANDARD, Lynn Gibson, the GAO’s general counsel, writes that the GAO remains “concerned” about the administration’s “legal authority to undertake the demonstration.”

The demonstration referred to in the letter was described by Anderson this way in his May article: “[the administration] launched an $8.35 billion ‘demonstration project’ to postpone the vast majority of Obamacare’s Medicare Advantage cuts until after what Obama likes to call his ‘last election’. In truth, this isn’t really a demonstration project at all. It’s something closer to the opposite: an attempt to keep Obamacare’s effects from being demonstrated until it’s too late for voters to respond.”

The GAO also questioned the scope of the demonstration project, according to Anderson, noting “that there have been 85 other Medicare demonstration projects conducted in the 17 years since 1995. According to the GAO, Obama’s $8.35 billion gambit will cost more than all 85 other Medicare demonstration projects combined.

AMAC has posted Anderson’s article on its Website

This figures. Obama has been less than honest from day one.

Thanks freedomfighter! Was not sure Glen Beck even existed anymore. I don't think Obama has to do anything to win except act like he is an American. It's all ready been decided folks. I see the election going down like this...

=)) I know this is not a laughing matter but who cannot laugh at that video??

every president that I have known has lied in election year except Jimmy Carter and he is not much. So every president will lie because they have lobbyist supporting them and hoping that they will win and control the president and the country. So Obama is not the only one lying to us.

I never thought there would be someone worse than Jimmy Carter then Obama came around.

I got this in an email. Thought some of you might like reading it and making comments.

The national "news" media's integrity has plunged to previously unimaginable lows.

As they desperately try to slap a positive spin on the liberal agenda, the media will do whatever it takes to deceive the American people.

From Fast & Furious and Solyndra, we know the extent to which the liberal media are willing to go to cover up liberal scandals.

If you thought the media couldn't get any more flagrant, you were wrong.

Of all the scandals the liberal media have brushed aside, the most shocking is the whitewashing of the terrorist attack in Libya that resulted in the death of four Americans.

They have tried to ignore the administration's bungling of facts, and the smoke screens designed to keep the American people in the dark about the deadly terrorist attack.

Yesterday's front page of the New York Times (we read the Times so that you don't have to!) had a glaring and inexcusable omission: nothing about Wednesday's congressional hearing seeking answers about the murderous attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya, and the administration false statements in the attack's aftermath.

(Luckily, MRC's news division, cnsnews.com, did cover the hearing. And as they reported Rep. Trent Gowdy of South Carolina declared that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and UN Ambassador Susan Rice gave "demonstrably false statements" about what caused the terrorist attack.)

How can that be? Four murdered diplomats and an administration caught in a series of falsehoods, and the so-called "newspaper of record" buries a major congressional investigation into the attack?

That's why I hope you will join our "Tell the Truth!" 2012 campaign demanding the liberal media stop covering up the administration's scandals. When you sign up, you will receive a free "I Don't Believe the Liberal Media!" bumper sticker.

I need you to join our "Tell the Truth!" 2012 campaign so we can expose the media's effort to cover up the tragedy in Libya.

The so-called "news" media must know that we're monitoring their every move and we won't let them get away with brushing aside the tragic attack in Libya in order to shield the administration from criticism.

Help us hold them accountable by joining our "Tell the Truth!" 2012 campaign and forwarding this link to your friends and family so that they too can make their voices heard.

By joining up, you will receive a free "I Don't Believe the Liberal Media!" bumper sticker.

The media's cover ups have gotten out of control. Let's expose them before it's too late!

Thank you.

David Martin

P.S.The liberal media are trying to brush aside the terrorist attack on our consulate in Libya to shield the Obama administration from criticism.

Obama's Boasting Of A Manufacturing Resurgence On The Campaign Trail Doesn't Match The Facts On The Ground

Remember Romney stating their were thousands of jobs lost? And Obama said he is wrong?

Freedom Fighter....Obama is not going to get the senior's vote whether he delays his tax increase or not. Obama is toast. The only thing we have to worry about is the lame duck session and Obama's 'scorched earth' attitude he and Hillary will implement by signing treaties with the UN to ban all guns, etc, etc. Obama WILL be a sore loser. You can take that to the bank.

Electronic voter fraud in battleground states. Look for some other secret video or discruntled employee.

As has been pointed out by major odds makers in Vegas. Romney has a big lead in the polls in spite of what the MSM reports.

1. 2008 election between Obana and McCain was 53/46% for Obama.
2. No one who voted for McCain in 2008 will vote for Obama in 2012
3. Obama got 96% black vote in 2008. This can only go down in 2012.
4. Obama got huge support from Catholics in 2008 but will lose it in 2012 because of coming out in favor of abortion, same-sex marriage, and Obamacare forcing Catholic institutions to provide contraception etc.
5. Obama will loose his 2008 Jewish vote due to weakness towards Israel.
6. The economy is sluggish, gas prices and unemploment are still high.
7. Romney is getting an even higher percentage of military vote than McCain did.
8. The only thing looking good for Obama is there are more Americans on welfare. Seems counterintuitive that someone on welfare would vote to stay on and keep their welfare and not vote for the possibility of an improved economy and potentially getting off welfare.
9. Latinos probably will go for Obama but this isn't changed from 2008

I don't think Americans will give up their guns under any circumstances. We're the only country that has known freedom for what it is. People still believe in the 2nd Amendment.

Breaking news is confirming that the Obama administration knew within two hours that the deadly attack on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya was a 9/11 anniversary assault by Islamic militants.

A flood of emails from the U.S. State Department to government and intelligence agencies removes all doubt that the White House knew exactly what was happening in Benghazi. And yet for weeks, they continued to perpetuate a grand lie to the American people -- bogusly suggesting the attack was a "spontaneous reaction" to a Muslim video posted on YouTube.

Rush Limbaugh believes the Libya cover-up is bigger than Watergate "because people died."

Why the lies? Why did the Obama administration knowingly mislead and misdirect the American people?

What are they hiding?

Whether for political gain or to appease the Islamic community, or some other reason, the American people deserve the truth. Yet the stonewalling of the White House and the liberal media's lack of vigor to make this a front-page news story has made it critical for grassroots Americans to act -- to demand immediate action.

+ + Americans want THE TRUTH ABOUT LIBYA!

freedomfighter,

All we knew was which group claimed responsibility. It remains to be seen what role the movie played in the event. I respect the administration for not reporting whatever they are told. An investigation on the part of our intelligence agencies is a prudent measure. This seems to me to be a fake controversy. The Romney campaign should be ashamed at themselves for politicizing this without knowing anything about it.
