Another comment in the same article: "I wonder if Trump would have been victorious in the Presidential election if we had viewed him doing a sword dance with the headchoppers and whooping it up or kissing the Wall with a little beanie on the back of his head?" Do you think Romney would have got the...

Re: How do People Get Exocommunicated?

This might be a touchy subject for someone and I don't mean to offend you in any way. But I have a question. Besides fornication and incest, how do people get exocoummincated? I'm reading an article on the Ensign, page 55-57. It is about woman who came back to the Church after being excommunicated....

Re: How would you wipe out ISIS?

This is not without precedence. The Nephites went to war with the Gadianton Robbers and got nowhere. The Lamanites taught them the gospel and converted them. But the Laminates buried their weapons of war and suffered death at the hands of the Gadiantons first. No they didn't. The Anti Lehi Nephi's ...

Re: How do People Get Exocommunicated?

Excommunication is less common these days. In my experience only those who are unrepentant are excommunicated. Disfellowshipment and formal probation are nearly always the way it goes for repentant sinners, if disciplinary proceedings are deemed necessary. I have found this is the general approach e...

Re: The Earth is Not a Globe!?! Is God literal, water above and below the firmament?

But the LDS Church is one of those companies who have a satellite orbiting the earth. KitKat. Do you use GPS, Cell phones? watch TV? What keeps all of those satellites you are personally using, motionless above your flat earth? A lot of people who subscribe to the flat earth view do not accept that...

Re: How would you wipe out ISIS?

The only way you will stop Islam is to get muslims to see Mohammad was wrong. They need to get informed about what Mohammad really did and what he taught. Did you know he was actually a short fat man? Mohammad was a fraud. =)) =)) =)) =)) =)) =)) =)) That's really going to work, telling people that...

Re: How would you wipe out ISIS?

In light of the bombing targeting teenage British girls in Manchester I wonder what people suggest the best way to get rid of ISIS would be. There is bombing, yes, but what about the technique the Philippine President has used to kill off drug dealers? It could be modified in that bounties could be...

Re: Stake president shared First presidency letter

I share the question posed by Mcox. I show up early for church so I wouldn't have missed anything and no letter was read. Nothing was said in any of the meetings either. In the past when a letter is read in sacrament meeting I have been able to go read the letter at lds.org. But today I find no men...

A lot of people who subscribe to the flat earth view do not accept that there are any satellites, so the question isn't particularly relevant.

Re: Miss USA "health care is a privilege"

Anything but put your hand in your pocket. What a lot of Americans fail to understand about our universal healthcare system is that we don't mind paying for it in the least. It is paid for through a national insurance system and hardly anyone objects to paying it, even if we don't use it. After all...

Interesting comments. I can only assume most of you think the Levite and the priest were right to pass by on the other side, and the Samaritan's pity was misplaced. I personally think as individuals we are to assist with all we can to ease the suffering of others. It is a whole different thing to e...

Re: How to save the Constitution

The Constitution is in fact inspired by God and should not be tampered with. We should not be seeking to replace the Constitution but enforcing it instead. I often hear this. But if it is such a perfect document that should not be tampered with, why so many amendments? Surely an amendment qualifies...

IMHO you can't just quit the true church where you once had a testimony without a persistent effort to keep that testimony buried.

Where've you been? None of this is new. This information has been out there for decades, and even more so since the advent of the internet. By producing the essays the church has simply made the information available to members in a format which is less agenda (meaning anti-Mormon) driven. The Chur...
