Re: If we do not take care of the poor we are like hypocrites who deny the faith.

I have been given an assignment to "help" a 28 year old member of our stake who has a mental disability of some sort, refuses to take prescribed medication for his mental condition, is capable of working but doesn't (while working at DI his attendance was about 50%), bums or steals money from family...

Re: TRUMP.

The following comes from Arizona Congressman Andy Biggs, Congressional Representative for Arizona CD 5. Prior being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives last November, Andy served more years than I can remember in the Arizona State Legislature, most recently as President of the State Senate....

Re: How to save the Constitution

Fair enuf, "Saving the constitution may be just as easy as getting back to our heritage." But how do we get a majority of American voters back to our heritage ? Latter-day prophets and apostles tried for years to get members of the Church to learn, uphold and abide by the principles of the Constitut...

Re: Globalist Conspiracy

Joel Skousen, Editor of the weekly WORLD AFFAIRS BRIEF, believes that, as Sarah has suggested, "those who belong to this American/European conspiracy group, or who believe in creating a "New World Order," are at some point going to be turned on by other power-hungry nations who have the guns and man...

Re: Globalist Conspiracy

The first two chapters of THE CLEANSING OF AMERICA seem most applicable to me and my wife at this time and out ages. I think we have a year supply of food for ourselves, but if we have to feed the neighborhood, as I expect it would come to that, it could get interesting. Our children, in their late ...

Re: How to save the Constitution

In the October 1987 LDS Church General Conference, President Benson, then the Prophet, told us that "We must learn the principles of the Constitution in the tradition of the Founding Fathers." Since then, my interest in and concern about the US Constitution and the gradual decrease in the freedoms i...

Re: How to save the Constitution

Of all the Church General Authorities, I believe President J. Reuben Clark was the most knowledgeable on the US Constitution. One of his many comments in General Conferences was "o, Brethren, I wish you to understand that when we begin to tamper with the Constitution we begin to tamper with the law ...

Re: Are we sinning enough yet?

The two on EmmaLee's list that give me the most concern are "Voting for and otherwise supporting socialism" and "Calling money that was forcibly stolen from you, i.e. theft, "charity" is fine." Many LDS people fancy themselves charitable because they support "legal plunder" of other people's money t...

Re: Are we sinning enough yet?

What principles are LDS parents too afraid to teach their children properly, for fear of being labeled "intolerant" or "uncompassionate", or for any other reason ? I cannot imagine any parent let their children believe lies, or knowingly teaching them the lies, unless they believe the lies themselve...

Re: Globalist Conspiracy

I do not think we will be able to reverse the course into tyranny that America is on now. Those "murderous combinations" that Moroni, and more recently President Benson (1988) and President Boyd Packer (2010) warned us about have gotten above us. I look to "The Cleansing of America", as outlined by ...

I believe there is a conspiracy of powerful elitists to surrender America’s independence and national sovereignty to a globalist New World Order. I believe the Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission, and Bilderbergs are especially culpable in this evil subterfuge of our liberties. I bel...

I appreciate that Durzan addressed this subject the way he did. Re: Are we sinning enough yet?

Re: Should Members of the Church Study and Abide by the US Constitution?

Written words in the US Constitution can be and have been changed or added thru the formal amendment process described in Article Five. However, we Latter-day Saints are obligated (commanded, to my mind) to support law that meets constitutional muster AND which also supports the principles of God-gi...

American Independence Day is not far off. I guess I should have phrased the title of this thread "Should the members of the Church still study and live by the U.S. Constitution ?" Re: Should Members of the Church Study and Abide by the US Constitution?

Freedom to control private property, freedom of r...

Now there is one of the most correct statements I have read on this forum, that the US Constitution "is of no interest to the majority of Church members." Re: Should Members of the Church Study and Abide by the US Constitution?

The Lord Jesus the Christ and latter-day prophets and apostles have told Latter-day Saints certain things that they should be doing to uphold and preserve the Constitution of the United States. I compiled this repertoire of some of...
